CJ Thompson was raised in Baker County and graduated from Baker County High School before earning his B.S. in Finance and MBA from Florida State University. He and his wife, Jessica, are raising their daughters, Kendall and Reagan, in Glen St. Mary.
CJ began his public service on Baker County’s Land Planning Agency, where he served as Chair, and on the Northeast Florida Regional Council.
In 2010, he was appointed Baker County Manager, where he led the day-to-day operations of county government, overseeing the budget, department heads, and staff while reducing operational costs without cutting essential services.
He later served as Director of Intragovernmental Services for the City of Jacksonville, overseeing IT, Procurement, Fleet Management, and the City’s Call Center.
Today, CJ is Chief Operating Officer of Majority Strategies, a national firm headquartered in Jacksonville.
Throughout his career in both public service and the private sector, CJ has focused on spending responsibly, ensuring accountability, and delivering real results. That’s the experience he’s ready to bring to the Baker County Commission.
CJ is raising his family in the community that raised him, and he’s invested in its future.
Baker County deserves experienced leadership that spends taxpayer dollars responsibly, holds government accountable, and protects the rural way of life that makes this place home.
